Send client documents without handing them to a third party.
Payroll, annual accounts, tax papers: what passes through an accounting firm rarely belongs to the sender and never to the operator of a download service. With LightSend these files sit encrypted on your own server, and the email comes from your own address.
Accounting means working with other people’s money and figures.
The documents you send every day belong to your clients. Where they are parked in transit is therefore not a question of your convenience but their business.
Payroll data is delicate
Salaries, social security numbers, sickness benefits, debt enforcement: much of it counts as specially protected under data protection law. A download link from somewhere is the wrong route for that.
Clients are starting to ask
More and more of them want to know where their bookkeeping lives. “On our own server, encrypted” is an answer that holds — and an argument against competitors who cannot give it.
Receipts are too large
A year of scanned receipts bursts any mailbox. Up to 10 GB and 200 files in one transfer — without slicing folders into portions.
What accounting firms send with it.
Everything too large for an attachment or too delicate for an outside service.
- →Payslips and salary statements to the client’s employees
- →Annual accounts with notes and detailed breakdowns
- →Tax returns with receipts, sent to the client for signature
- →Scanned receipts covering an entire financial year
- →VAT filings and correspondence with the authorities
- →Audit documentation to the auditors
- →Accounting files when changing software
- →Documents to banks for credit applications
Three steps, inside the work you already do.
Straight from Outlook
The add-in opens beside the message. Drag the file in and the link is in the draft. Without a Microsoft mailbox, use the companion app and a right click in Explorer.
Set the deadline yourself
Between 3 and 30 days. After that the server deletes the transfer on its own — what is gone cannot be lost.
On the record
The audit log on your server records who collected what and when. Useful when a client insists the documents never arrived.
What accountants ask first.
Does every client need an account?
Can we receive documents as well?
What about retention periods?
